Normally, Stefan Glerum works on a single illustration per project. But after seeing his work, we saw this just needed to be brought to life! The result is a hybrid of hand painted, frame by frame animated and 3d designed elements that together tell the story in this unique world.
Because of the sheer amount of work that every scene takes to make, we needed to create recurring elements in 3d without breaking the style. Drawing each car from different angles was extremely labor intensive so our challenge to model the cars in 3d, and making them look drawn. Now these hero elements can be used anywhere!
